# Voice

Hero Group sounds like a thoughtful, values-led food company that has been doing this since 1886 and does not need to prove it. Warm without being sentimental. Purposeful without being preachy. The register shifts by audience — lyrical for consumers, grounded and relational for partners, informal and pragmatic for employees — but the underlying character stays constant: honest, direct, and genuinely caring.

## Personality

**Honest:** The brand says what it means. "Honest goodness" is not a tagline to reach for — it is the operating standard. Copy does not oversell. Ingredients are real. Intentions are stated plainly.

**Warm but not gushing:** Care for consumers, farming partners, and employees is genuine, but Hero does not perform warmth with exclamation points or hollow enthusiasm. The warmth shows in specificity and in what the brand chooses to talk about, not in volume.

**Purposeful:** Every piece of copy connects back to a reason. Products exist to nourish. Acquisitions happen because of shared values. Sustainability targets are SBTi-validated, not aspirational slogans. Purpose is demonstrated, not declared.

**Grounded and unhurried:** In M&A and partnership contexts, Hero uses deliberate, patient language. The Deliciously Ella founders noted they "dated Hero for ten months before getting married." Hero does not rush, and its copy should not rush either.

## Register

Hero operates across a formal-to-casual range depending on audience and context.

- **Consumer-facing:** Warm, purposeful, slightly lyrical. Speaks to parents and snack-seekers as partners in caring about what they eat and feed their families. The Goodies/Nordics line copy ("little bits of wonder, crafted from good ingredients") marks the lyrical end of the range.
- **Corporate/institutional:** Measured, factual, relationship-led. The Deliciously Ella acquisition announcement — "The Hero Group today announces the addition of an important member to its family of brands" — marks the formal end. No hype. Facts carry the weight.
- **Internal/employee:** Informal, practical, relational. Flat-hierarchy language. Self-aware humor is acceptable. "We don't employ people to tell them what to do — you can make your mark with us." Drops polish, keeps warmth.
- **Partners and prospects:** Mission-first, then patient commercial logic. Warm, steady, and relational. Avoids cold investment-banking jargon entirely.
