# Visual identity
K1 (*Brand Identity 2023*) governs this assignment’s intended identity. Live web observations are a separate surface, not a replacement rulebook. This file is based on all 31 guide pages, both two-page US sales sheets, all loose images, logo archive inventories and binary font metadata. Composition interpretations are labelled below.

K1 p.16. Print values are supplied specifications, not conversions from RGB. White on LLW Blue is the strongest small-type pairing. Gold supports accents and larger type; check contrast at actual output size instead of assuming every palette pairing is readable.
K1 p.17 secondary complementary colours: Original #BD9E6F; 10YO #B04F20; 12YO #751E20; 14YO #890452; 18YO #36376B; 21YO #183C61; 30YO #573424; Inchmurrin 12 #639198; Inchmoan 12 #787D90. These complement 2023 packaging; they are explicitly not exact packaging matches. Do not recolour labels with these values.

Source K1 pp.13–15 and annotated layout p.19. Minimum sizes are floors, not recommended shelf-viewing sizes. Make an offer legible at retail viewing distance. Exact line height and tracking are execution choices, not universal brand tokens.
These are static fonts with no variable axes. Kapra reports weight 700. Hudson’s internal weight reports 400 despite its Bold family/file. Gotham Light, Book, Medium and Black also report 400; Bold reports 700. Bind the exact files explicitly to Light 300, Book 400, Medium 500, Bold 700, Black 900. Give Hudson a dedicated alias at weight 700 and Kapra a dedicated alias at 700. Do not rely on automatic family/style matching, synthesize missing italics or substitute a similar condensed face. CSS @font-face supports the supplied OTF/TTF files for local layouts. Wait for document.fonts.ready, verify each face with document.fonts.check and inspect line breaks before exporting. System sans-serif/serif are technical fallbacks only, not approved brand replacements. English is the supported proof language; additional-script glyph coverage is unverified and requires a specimen check.
**Rights:** on 2026-10-06 the user confirmed they hold the licence and requested use in these example creatives. Use the supplied fonts for this assignment and rendered exports. This confirmation does not turn the binaries into open-source assets. The original binaries are excluded from the portable public BCP download. K1’s three-year Kapra exclusivity language describes the dated manual; it is not a current exclusivity claim. Binary hashes below identify the actual files.
## Logos and clearspace
Use the supplied art, never typeset a substitute Loch Lomond wordmark or generate/redraw the stag. Preserve proportions, lettering, colours and the complete category descriptor. K1 pp.2–9:
- Primary logo: A preferred; B inverse for light backgrounds. Minimum 36mm print / 350px web. The primary clearspace X is the capital-letter height of LOCH LOMOND, maintained around all sides.
- Text-only logo: when restricted space prevents the primary mark. Minimum 25mm / 250px. Use the guide’s clearspace diagram; do not crowd it with copy.
- Stag roundel: approved alternative alone or with partner marks. A for dark grounds; B for light. Minimum 20mm / 150px. Respect the supplied clearspace diagram.
- No rotation, stretch, skew, relettering, substituted fonts, recolouring, low-resolution scaling or distracting patterned/tartan backgrounds. Keep the full mark legible.
- Supplied primary/text-only lockups say Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Do not attach them to a Single Grain or blended product as if the descriptor were correct. The roundel is category-neutral.
- Partner lockups are separately controlled. K1 distinguishes Official Spirit on cartons/tubes/merchandise from Spirit of The Open on campaign/PR/print/online materials. Historical examples do not grant new rights. Do not copy a partner logo out of a PDF as production art.
## Composition and imagery
**Observed guide examples:** pp.18–22 use a clear hierarchy, real bottle imagery, spacious type areas, fine rules, and restricted-space logo variants. The annotated A4 sell sheet puts type left and bottle right against an amber embossed-stag treatment. It uses Kapra for the short age heading, Hudson for emphasis/CTA and Gotham for reading text. Square and banner variants adapt the hierarchy rather than shrinking the whole sheet. Golf layouts pp.23–25 combine genuine landscape/pack imagery with supplied partner assets. Flavour campaigns pp.26–28 connect stills and flavours through gold paths over blue.
**Inferred execution principles:** lead with one clear message; group the condition directly with an offer; give the real mark protected space; use LLW Blue as the main identity anchor and gold with restraint. Small retail formats prioritise a clear message, its qualification and a recognisable mark. Do not invent mandatory campaign decoration, textures or a universal grid. The supplied campaign line may be used when it does not compete with the offer.
Use `LL 12YO Bottle.png` for the red-label 12 Year Old only. It is 538 × 1280, RGBA. Keep the bottle complete, undistorted and the label legible; never retouch age, strength or medal. `bottle-shot.JPG` is 6720 × 4480 and shows **Original with carton**, on stone with amber light, honey dipper and orange peel. It cannot illustrate a 12 Year Old feature. Crops must retain the relevant label and avoid implying another product. A bottle’s presence beside an offer can imply eligibility: a generic selected-whiskies offer should not name or depict an eligible SKU without confirmation.
The kit’s product imagery consists of the two whisky images identified above. For other products or promotional gifts, do not invent engraving, packaging, model, size or brand approval. An original schematic may be labelled as an illustration in the review record; a faithful production product depiction needs a supplied/verified image. The flavour/still illustrations on pp.29–30 are reference examples, not standalone vector assets in this kit. Do not present a newly drawn illustration as the approved icon artwork.
## Live website observation, separate from K1
Observed global homepage 2026-10-06 with actual CSS viewports 1309 × 909 and 354 × 767. An age gate remained unaccepted; computed DOM styles were inspected without dismissing it, so unrestricted visual rendering was not verified. Desktop section H2: Hudson NY Pro Serif 40px/44px, CSS weight 400; body Montserrat 18px/28.8px. Narrow: H2 32px/35.2px; body 16px/25.6px. CTA text weight 700; desktop padding 17.2px 40px, narrow 16px 32px; radius 8px. Body blue #18304E differs from K1 #002C4D; gold matches #A3804F. Desktop measured text columns 524.3px and 727.1px; narrow 314.5px. These are surface observations, not identity rules. Browser font enumeration did not establish loaded files. This BCP uses K1’s Gotham and LLW Blue for kit-based examples.
## Asset bindings
Paths in the following extension resolve against the user-supplied kit, `/Users/tds/Desktop/LLW` in this assignment. Public distribution must bind them to permitted published assets; a local path is not a public CDN URL. No canonical logo URL is invented. Archive members use `archive.zip!member` notation. Hashes identify exact bytes, not ownership. The original source documents and commercial trade details stay private.
